24.08.2010 Independent publisher Panamarou put on wanted list

On 23 August, Siarhei Panamarou, publisher of the Boiki Kletsk independent newsletter, was put on the wanted list following a court hearing by Slutsk District Court on the same day, the Nasha Niva newspaper reports, quoting the publisher’s lawyer Pavel Sapelka.

20.08.2010 Activist Bashura transferred to Zhodzina prison

On 19 August, Minsk Savetski Court dismissed the claim by lawyer Tamara Sidarenka, demanding change of a measure of restraint of her defendant Mikhas Bashura, who, however, has been transported to Zhodzina pre-trial prison following the counsel’s motion.

An activist of “For Freedom” movement from Kletsk, 58-year-old Syarhei Panamarou, has asked for political asylum in Poland.

A criminal process against him is scheduled for August 23, and the man was to give a written undertaking not to leave the place before the court.

17.08.2010 Mikhail Bashura accused

An activist of “Tell the truth” Mikhail Bashura has been charged under two parts of Article 380 of the Criminal Code.

On August 18 the activist is likely to be transferred from the remand prison in Minsk to Zhodzina. “Belarusian partisan” website was informed about that by a lawyer Tamara Sidarenka.

10.08.2010 Mikhail Bashura left in prison for 10 days

The period under guard for an activist of “Tell the truth!” civil campaign Mikhail Bashura has been extended to 10 days.

BelaPAN has been informed about that by lawyer Tamara Sidarenka.

We remind that on August 6 he was detained as a suspect for committing a crime. A few years ago Bashura allegedly gave a false c certificate of income. The sum in it was overstated.

On 16 July, the panel of judges of the Homel Region Court considered the protest of the procuracy against the verdict of the Tsentralny District Court of Homel acquitting the Jehowah’s Witness Dzmitry Smyk of draft-dodging (Article 435 of the Criminal Code) and left the verdict standing.
