July 9, co-Chairman of "Young Front" Andrei Tsianiuta filed a complaint to the Chairman of the Homel Regional Court against the verdict of the district court in his administrative case.
09.07.2014 Homel human rights activists apply for picket in support of political prisoners
July 9, Homel human rights defenders Anatol Paplauny and Leanid Sudalenka applied to Homel City Executive Committee to get a permission for holding a picket on August 4. The purpose of the mass event action is to express protest against the existencce of political prisoners in Belarus, express support tothem and demand their immediate release.

Civil society activist Dzianis Turchaniak filed an application to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Belarus asking to prosecute the local officials and officers of the city's housing economy who intended to dismantle house No. 10 in Astrouski Street in Brest.

July 8, human rights activist Tamara Siarhei was once again summoned to the Prosecutor General's Office to the Deputy Head of the Department for the rights and freedoms of citizens, Pavel Yeliseyeu.
08.07.2014 Authorities permit just one BCD picket in over 100
Belarusian Christian Democrats applied for permissions to hold over 100 pickets in 41 cities and towns of Belarus, but just one of them was authorized. It will be held at 5-7 p.m. in Klichau, whose population is 7,000 at largest. The topic of the picket is the protection of children from alcoholism.
08.07.2014 Police deny activist's hunger-strike and refuse to return him T-shirt
Head of Minsk centrel for Minsk detention center, Lieutenant Colonel I. Sakalouski refused to recognize the 25-day hunger strike of an activist from Homel Yury Rubtsou, charging him 1,650,000 rubles for the prison food. The man who didn't eat anything during his stay in the detention center applied to the Maskouski District Court of Minsk.

How was the topic of the death penalty covered in Belarus more than 15 years ago? One of the first extensive articles appeared in the independent Belarusian newspaper "Svaboda" February 17, 1998, when its editor was Ihar Hermianchuk. The article was placed in the "Topic" column and was titled "Death Penalty".

The first visit of the Vice-President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) Ales Bialiatski to Paris has come to an end. Before this, he had last visited Paris three years ago, a month before his arrest. All subsequent years members of the Federation throughout the world held actions and took every effort to secure his release.

Orsha activists of the United Civil Party have filed three applications for holding pickets on July 27, the Day of State Sovereignty Declaration. They intend to hold all three events in the officially approved places: Park Heroyau, on the ground in front of “Aroniya” cafe and in the park of work and recreation of textilemen.

Commissioner Füle recalled that any positive change in the EU’s relations with the Belarusian authorities depends on the improvement of human rights and the unconditional release and rehabilitation of all political prisoners.
07.07.2014 Korban, Siarheyenka and Zhylko punished with arrest
July 4, the Partyzanski District Court of Minsk tried the “Alternative” activists Aleh Korban and Uladzimir Siarheyenka, detained on July 2, and activist of the United Civil Party Anton Zhylko, detained in his apartment in the morning on July 3, were tried and sentenced to arrest.

Vasil Parfiankou was punished with solitary confinement for five days for refusing to enter the "voluntary work" in Horky penal colony.
