20.07.2011 MEP Migalski appeals to Catherine Ashton and Jerzy Buzek for "fast intervention" in the case of Bandarenka
Dr Marek Migalski sent letters concerning Dzmitry Bandarenka to the Catherine Ashton as well as to Jerzy Buzek, appealing to both for the fast intervention in his case. In the letter to Mr. Buzek Migalski writes that “ I am aware that you must speak up on behalf of all Belarusian political prisoners but due to Dzmitry Bandarenka’s health problems and the perspective of him becoming a disabled person, please do react to this situation immediately”.

He is in Lenin District Department of the Interior now and has managed to make only one phone call to a friend.
20.07.2011 Minsk residents appeal police violence
Two Minsk residents Mr. Uladzimir Marozau and Mrs. Sviatlana Viarheichyk have lodged complaints with the city’s prosecutor’s office, appealing violence reportedly used by the police during a “silent protest” on 6 July.

On 19 July, Young Front activist Ivan Shyla serving an administrative arrest in Salihorsk detention center was taken to hospital with an acute allergy he had contracted during his service in the army.

A new web-site Freedom to Political Prisoners in Belarus has been launched as an initiative that “aims at an immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners in Belarus followed by the full clearance from any related charges.”
