11.01.2011 Supreme Court turned down Ryhor Kastusiou's appeal against results of presidential election
On 3 January the former presidential candidate representing the BPF party filed an appeal to the Supreme Court enlisting violations during the electoral campaign and asking to re-consider the election results, announced by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
10.01.2011 Belarusian Front Party is deprived of office
BPF received a letter from the housing economy of the Savetski district of Minsk during the New Year holidays. The letter prescribes the party to vacate the occupied premises due to the expiry of the rent agreement. The housing economy also informs it will not conclude a new agreement, allegedly due to the untimely payment of the rent during the last three months.

On 6 January the official charges upon Article 339, part 3 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) were presented to the Chairperson of the Young Front Dzmitry Dashkevich and the head of the Minsk branch of the organization Eduard Lobau.

05.01.2011 KGB searched office of Belarusian Helsinki Committee and apartment of its chairperson
The office of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee was searched by KGB officers. A laptop and the organization server were confiscated as a result. After it, the KGB officers went to the apartment of the BHC Chairperson, Aleh Hulak. They also told they would summon him for an interrogation.
04.01.2011 Ex-presidential candidate Ryhor Kastusiou appeals results of election at Supreme Court
Ryhor Kastusiou has applied to the Supreme Court of Belarus with the request to review the results of the Central Election Commission concerning the acknowledgement of the presidential election. His application includes the enumeration of the violations that were registered by observers, members of election commissions and electioneering agents of candidates.
03.01.2011 Dzmitry Dashkevich and Eduard Lobau transferred to Zhodzina jail
The Young Front leaders Dzmitry Dashkevich, Dzianis Lazar and Eduard Lobau had been detained on 18 December in Minsk on fabricated charges (Article 339, part 3 of the Criminal Code – malignant hooliganism) and have been kept in jail since then. According to the investigation, the accused ‘have groundlessly and deliberately beaten a man with fists and a crowbar.

The deputy chairperson of the Young Front Nasta Palazhanka stays in jail. The term of her detention in the KGB jail has been prolonged for two months. The deputy chairperson of the Young Front (registered in the Czech Republic) made a speech in the square and said that the youth supported a democratic Belarus where everything was done according to the law and where dictatorship did not exist, reports Arche.

On 1 January the presidential candidate Vital Rymasheuski was released from the KGB pre-trial detention centre on a written undertaking not to leave the place. He had also written a letter of explanation to Lukashenka.

The detention of two Young Front activists Dzmitry Dashkevich and Eduard Lobau has been extended till 7 January. However, no official charges have yet been brought against them.

Dzianis Lazar, activist of the Young Front youth opposition movement, previously charged with “disorderly conduct”, has been released from the KGB Minsk pre-trial prison.
22.12.2010 Viltouski and Hvedaruk released due to lack of cells
Pavel Viltouski and Zmitser Hvedaruk have been released from the detention centre in Akrestsina Street. Both guys have given a written undertaking not to leave the country. An acquaintance of the guys who preferred to remain unknown has informed Euroradio about it.
