Minsk police have reportedly broken into a private apartment, where five youth opposition activists – Yan Stasiuk, Aliaksandra Litvinchuk, Aksana Matsiuk, Marya Charvinskaya and Yauhen Ivaniuk – have been blocked since morning.

16.12.2010 Members of Young Belarus witness bringing of ballot box out of electoral precinct

A ballot box was taken to another room during the lunchtime.

Members of Young Belarus organization Pavel Prakapovich, Mikalai Stseshyts and Viktar Yazubchyts recorded a violation of the electoral legislation at a polling station in the Tsentralny district of Minsk.

16.12.2010 Young Front tells Makei to lay down weapons

Three activists of the Young Front were detained by the police for picketing the Presidential Administration on 15 December. According to one of the detainees, they held the action in connection with the recent statements of the head of the Presidential Administration, Uladzimir Makei, that the opposition was preparing terrorist acts with explosives for 19 December.

14.12.2010 Member of opposition allowed to sign fewer ballots than was promised in presence of OSCE observers

A BPF member Iryna Semianiuk-Smiayan who is a member of precinct election commission #104 in Minsk was promised to be allowed to sign all 2,300 voting papers on Monday. It happened in the presence of OSCE observers. However, she was only allowed to sign 100 ballots on the first day of the early voting.

The bully who tore away the campaign posters that were displayed in the authorized locations and tried to beat Vital Rymasheuski’s electioneering agent Valeryia Charnamortsava, was detained over a week ago, but still hasn’t been brought to a trial. 09.12.2010 Minsk: member of precinct election commission nominated by BPF Party tries to restore her rights

A member of the precinct election commission #104 of the Maskouski District of Minsk Iryna Smiayan-Semianiuk applied to the Central Election Commission and the Minsk City Election Commission with a complaint about unlawful actions by the commission Chairperson, Yury Nasonau. As stated in the complaint, in violation of Part 3 of Article 37 of the Electoral Code of Belarus I.Smiayan-Semianiuk was not invited to the meeting of the commission, except the first two ones.

09.12.2010 Vitsebsk: female agitators are detained and insulted

On 8 December the guards of the shopping center Evicom detained the electioneering agent of Vital Rymasheuski, Tatsiana Seviarynets (pictured) for handing out electoral leaflets of the candidate. On 9 December Alena Famina, an electioneering agent of the presidential candidate Dzmitry Us, was removed from the building of Vitsebsk State University with the use of physical force.

09.12.2010 Minsk: the dean’s office of philological faculty of Belarusian State University threatens a Young Front activist

A second-year student of the philological faculty of Belarusian State University Kasia Davydzik was summonsed to the office of the Deputy Dean, Siarhei Vazhnik. He showed her photos from the street action held under the slogan Retire! (addressed to Lukashenka), on the top of which her surname was written in Russian. The official said that had had been asked to take explanations from her.

09.12.2010 National-Bolsheviks detained for anti-Lukasneka picket

About ten people took part in the first pre-electoral picket of National-Bolshevists. The leader of the Belarusian National-Bolshevists Yauhen Kontush stated that the action's aim was to protest against the policy of the current authorities.
