18.06.2015 Freelance journalist in Homieĺ appeals fine
On June 18, journalist Natallia Kryvashei, who received the maximum possible penalty (a fine of 50 basic units, or 9 mln rubles), filed an appeal against the ruling of the court of Centralny district. The freelance journalist does not agree with the punishment for “illegal production of media products” without accreditation for the TV channel Belsat.

According to a decision of the administrative commission of the Mikaševičy city executive committee, Vital Kalinouski, member of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), has been punished by a fine of three basic units.

On June 18, the administrative commission of the Slonim district executive committee fined local opposition activist Ivan Bedka 180,000 rubles for pasting anti-alcohol posters at public transport stops.

The Russian human rights organization Committee against Torture, whose office in Grozny was destroyed by unknown assailants on June 3, will resume work in a new location, the former apartment of Natalya Estemirova, an employee of the Memorial human rights NGO, who was kidnapped and murdered in Chechnya in 2009.
