KGB informs: The State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus has initiated and investigates a criminal case on features of a crime under part 3 of Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus concerning the fact of unlawful crossing of the state boundary of the Republic of Belarus by citizens of the Kingdom of Sweden at a light airplane.
07.08.2012 Precinct election commissions formed secretly in Leninski district of Mahiliou
Last week human rights defender Barys Bukhel passed documents for the inclusion of human rights defender Aliaksei Kolchyn to a precinct election commission. He asked officers of the organizational and personnel department of the Leninski District Executive Committee to inform him about the date, time and place of the sitting on formation of precinct election commissions.

The head of the Barysau city organization of the United Civil Party Mikhail Vasiliieu received a letter from the tax inspection with the demand to present income and asset declaration for the last four years.

On 6 August Lithuanian and Belarusian civil activists gathered near the Belarusian Embassy in Vilnius to express solidarity with the well-known human rights defender Ales Bialiatski, detained a year ago and sentenced to 4.5 years of prison for work for the human rights in Belarus.

This time information about violation of the electoral legislation by the head of the department store Viktar Valiushytski was passed to the election commissions of Brest-Western election constituency #1 by one of his possible rivals, the head of the local branch of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) Hanna Kanius.

On 4 July 2012, the Court of Pervomayski District of Minsk confirmed the list of property to be confiscated as part of the sentence handed down to Mr Ales Bialiatski in 2011 for alleged 'tax evasion on a large scale'.
