02.08.2010 Youth activist Azarka faces civil charges
Nastassia Azarka, head of ‘Young Belarus’ Niasvizh office, will stand trial for violating residential care regulations. On 30 July she was summoned to Niasvizh town police department and officially charged under Article 23.14 of the Civil Code.
02.08.2010 OSCE criticizes mass media freedom in Belarus
The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovich has come out in the support of Belarusian journalists.
On 30 July, Dunja Mijatovich has delivered her first report at the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna. In the report on two dozens of the OSCE participating States, to which Mijatovich addressed with different questions concerning freedom of mass media, Belarus is mentioned as well, Radio Svaboda informs.
02.08.2010 Young people in Belarus arrested for national symbols
On August 1 two Young Front activists were detained in the town of Barysau for propagation of national symbols.
On Sunday evening policemen detained Hanna Sharuba and Uladzislau Yaryomenka in Barysau. The Young Front members were decorating the town with national symbols, the press-service of the Young Front informs.
