12.07.2013 Homel residents join "Week of Political Prisoners"
An action in support of political prisoners is held by the public-political center in Paleskaya Street, 52 in Homel and was organized by the Homel human rights defenders from "Viasna" and "Salidarnasts". All interested people can come there and write postcards for the Belarusian political prisoners.
12.07.2013 Zhlobin: court admits the mistake, but dismisses the claim
Judge of the Zhlobin District Court Sniazhana Halavenchyk dismissed the claim of the human rights activist Leanid Sudalenka in favor of a worker of the Belarusian Steel Works (BSW) Maryia Mirayeuskaya with the requirement to collect a pension from her employer for more than four years.

In Hrodna an action of solidarity with political prisoners was organized by human rights defenders from "Viasna" and "Salidarnasts". During four hours they handed out several hundreds of postcards, asking the people to sign and pass them to political prisoners.

Ales Bialiatski, chairman of the Human Rights Center "Viasna", has been in prison since 4 August 2011. In November the same year, he was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and confiscation of property for alleged tax evasion. In fact, the sentence is related to Ales Bialiatski’s work for human rights in Belarus.

13.06.2013 Belarus : refusal to cooperate triggers renewal of the mandate by the UN Human rights Council
Today (13 June 2013), the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) adopted a resolution renewing the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus and expressing deep concern at continuing violations of human rights in the country.
13.06.2013 Pavel Levinau demands change of restraint for Haidukou
Vitsebsk human rights activist addressed such a request to a judge of the Vitsensk Regional Court Halina Urbanovich, who leads the trial on the "espionage case". Pavel Levinau also filed a complaint to the Investigative Committee and applied to the head of the Vitsebsk Regional Court Miakali Khamichonak concerning the noticed violations.
11.06.2013 Human rights activist hopes for objectivity of chairman of Supreme Court
On 8 June Baranavichy human rights activist Siarhei Housha filed an appeal to the Head of the Supreme Court of Belarus Valiantsin Sukala against the verdict of the Baranavichy court of 21 August 2012 according to which he was punished with a fine for the alleged use of foul language in a public place. The activist notes that the Brest Regional Court and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus didn't grant his appeals against the illegality of administrative punishment.

On 7 June human rights defenders and social activists Siarhei Housha, Viktar Meziaka and Viktar Syrytsa filed an appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which they asked to be provided with information on measures taken by Belarus to implement the pinions of the UN Committee on Human Rights, set out on 27 July 2012.
06.06.2013 Prosecutor General will have to answer whether courts rightly refused to consider complaints of human rights defender
Baranavichy human rights activist Siarhei Housha sent to the Prosecutor General of Belarus a supervisory appeal against the refusals of the court of first instance and the appeal court to consider his lawsuits concerning the failure of the Republic of Belarus to pay him a compensation for moral damages, as required by a decision of the UN Human Rights Committee.
