“Young Front” activist Zmitser Khvedaruk, forcefully drafted into the army, has been taken to the Belarusian Military Hospital.

The guy, who has problems with ear, is to spend 10 days in hospital expects the weekend, when he won’t undergo medical procedures, mfront.by writes.

It should be reminded that on January 28, 2009, “Young Front” activist from Minsk Zmitser Khvedaruk was guarded to the military enlistment office, and then to a prison in Akrestsin Street allegedly for serving a punishment for participation in a rally on May 1, 2008. It became known later that there wasn’t a court decision. Nevertheless, Khvedaruk had to spend two days in prison.

“Young Front” activist Pyotr Ruzau was expelled from Baranavichy State University.

On May 12, the student of the Faculty of Finance and Law got an appropriate order signed by the rector. The document says the reason for expulsion is “violation of internal regulations”, press service of “Young Front” reports.

Ruzau was fined for drawing graffiti “Freedom to Autukhovich!” on the wall of the meat-processing factory.

“KGB and militia officers have visited the university several times this year, they threatened to expel me for my public activity. The trial for graffiti was obviously the last drop,” Pyotr Ruzau told.

According to www.mfront.net, another under-aged Young Front activist has been called in for interrogation over the explosion in downtown Minsk on 4 July 2008. ‘I think the police are trying to fingerprint me in this way, just like they did with other representatives of the pro-democratic movement. The police together with the secret services are using the 4 July explosion as an opportunity to maintain illegal activities against the opposition’, says activist Stas Stesik. It is a second writ received by the teenager over the past week.

Hrodna Regional Court has considered the complaint against the decision by the Ministry of Justice to deny registration to the Belarusian Popular Front’s Hrodna Regional Office. The interests of the party were represented by the BPF’s central office senior secretary Uladzimer Labkovich and member of the party’s Soim Yury Chavusau. The trial was bore a strong resemblance to the one held a few hours before, when similar complaint by the BPF ‘Adradzhennie’ was considered.

Yesterday, on 20 May, Vasil Paliakou, head of UCPB Homel Regional Office, was visited by a police representative captain Shukel. According to Mr.Paliakou, the conversation looked like an interrogation, for the policeman drew up a record and later charged the Politian with violating Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code for participating in an unauthorized General Yury Zakharanka memorial picket on 7 May in front of the building of Homel regional police department. As a result, Vasil Paliakou may face a fine or an imprisonment of up to 15 days.

The private house of Siarhei Panamarou, head of BPF Kletsk office, has once again been visited by court executors, who were to distress the property to compensate the fine of BYR 1,050,000 awarded to the politician for arranging a public meeting with Anton Astapovich, head of Monuments Protection Society, as well as a BYR 9,000,000 fine for tax evasion in 2006. According to Mr.Panamarou, the Superior Economic Court has made three attempts to distress his property, repeatedly finding there is nothing to seize.

According to Young Front press-service, a YF member Nadzeya Pekraskaya was offered collaboration by a number of KGB agents during a conversation at the Journalists’ Faculty of Belarusian State University. ‘They said they would help solve all my problems,’ said Ms.Pekarskaya. She also had a conversation with the Faculty Dean Mr.Dubovik, who demanded that the activist provided explanations on her recent arrest during the 7 May rally. As a result, the official said the girl would be expelled from the University in case she is detained again.’

On 14 May at 12 a.m. near the railway station in Brest the police detained the youth activists Mikhail Iliin and Andrei Sharenda for ‘identification’ and guarded them to Leninski district police department. The detained activists were heading for the ‘For Freedom’ march that will to take place on 6 p.m. in Minsk. The detention was explained by an anonymous telephone call informing the police about two people who were behaving like hooligans at the railway station and whose appearance allegedly resembled the detained activists.
