Family of figurant of 19 December “mass riot” case Aliaksandr Klaskouski can be disposed of house
Being a father with many
children, last year Aliaksandr Klaskouski
got an opportunity to obtain a soft loan to build a flat and even paid some
deposits. In early January, the bank must have opened a credit line of the sum
the family needed for home building. But Aliaknsadr Klaskouski was arrested at
the night of 21 December. “It was only two weeks before obtaining the loan”,
said his wife Natallia.
After her husband’s arrest, the woman found herself alone with three children. Natallia
is on maternity leave living on 285.000 Belarusian rubles (about $94) of governmental
aid. According to Natallia, the family couldn’t survive if it were not for the
help from relatives and friends.
She is looking for guarantors to receive the loan. The house construction is to
be finished in December 2011. However, Natallia does not hope for a positive
decision of the bank. “Of course, I’ll do all my best, but I was hinted in the
bank that I am unlikely to get a loan”.
“Even if the wife manages to get a power of attorney from her husband and find
guarantors, she will have a very small chance to get a loan. The main renter is
in prison, the family is insolvent,” an officer of a Minsk bank explains.
So, the Klaskouskis will have to continue living in the small two-room apartment
of Aliaksandr’s parents.
Former policeman Aliaksandr Klaskouski is accused under Article 293 of the
Criminal Code, “mass riot”. He is also accused of insulting a representative of
the authorities (article 369) and (unauthorized appropriation of the title or
the authority of an official (article 382). According to all these charges, he
faces up to 15 years in prison.
