The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against Belarusians who took part in Freedom Day demonstrations around the world. The Committee writes that 104 surnames have been added to the list of suspects in the case of Belarusians abroad.

It is reported that the Investigative Committee received data about more than a hundred people who took direct part in demonstrations in Warsaw, Vilnius, Wroclaw, Bialystok, Brussels, Batumi, Prague, California, Philadelphia, etc. These people are recognized as suspects in the criminal case: they are charged under Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (creation of an extremist formation and participation in it) and Article 369-1 of the Criminal Code (discrediting the Republic of Belarus).

As part of the investigation of the criminal case, information has already been received about real estate and property on the territory of Belarus belonging to these people. Investigative actions are currently underway, including inspections, searches, confiscation of property, and other procedural measures.

Radio Svaboda learned that on May 16, in the morning, representatives of the police and investigative authorities came to the place of registration of at least several Belarusians living abroad.

"I don't have any property in Belarus. But they regularly come to my parents, fooling their heads: "Your son is wanted, and there is a criminal case against him." But they give no details."
