Several leaders of the Belarusian political opposition have been detained today, including Uladzimir Niakliayeu and Viachaslau Siuchyk.
The Minsk police also detained activist Maksim Viniarski.
All of them were expected to lead a protest on March 25, which was banned by the city authorities.
At the same time, the officials allowed a concert in central Minsk to mark the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic.
