Authorities extend pre-trial detention of 4 persons charged in ‘rioting and armed group case’ Updated
The authorities have extended the pre-trial detention of four persons involved in the case of preparing mass riots and forming an illegal armed group.
Andrei Dundukou was detained on March 21 and is currently held in the Interior Ministry’s prison in Minsk. He will remain in custody for another four months.
Uladzimir Fiodarau was detained on March 29. He is held in the KGB pre-trial prison. His detention has been extended by two months.
Both are charged with preparing riots (Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code) and forming an illegal armed group (Article 287 of the Criminal Code).
According to available information, to date only one of the 16 detainees detained in the case, Siarhei Kuntesvich, has not faced additional charges under Art. 287.
UPD. Later the same day, it was reported that the detention of another person charged in the case, Siarhei Strybulski, was extended by two months. Strybulski was arrested on March 21 and is now in the Interior Ministry’s jail No. 1.
According to a friend of Ales Yaudakha, who was arrested on March 21 and is held in jail No. 1, the prisoner sent a letter saying that on May 20 his pre-trial detention had been extended until July 27.
