Member of Anatol Liabedzka nomination group seeks equal conditions in media coverage
Mikalai Ulasevich, a member of the nomination group of Anatol Liabedzka, has sent a letter to the Smarhoń district executive committee and the local government-run newspaper Svietly Šliach, asking to cover the nomination activities by the contender’s campaign team.
The petition stems from a video posted on the official site of the district executive committee in the section "Election of the President 2015". The video showed the collection of signatures by the initiative group of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. On July 31, the district newspaper posted an article entitled "Initiative of the Young," which tells about the collection of signatures by Lukashenka’s nomination group.
According to Mr. Ulasevich, the authorities use the public media exclusively for promoting the only candidate, which does not correspond to the current legislation and discriminates against other contenders.
