“Hazieta Slonimskaja” not included in subscription catalog again

May 5, the staff of the regional “Hazieta Slonimskaja” received a letter from the the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Belpošta" (“Belarusian Post”).

"May 5 we received an original congratulation on the Day of Printing from "Belpošta". That day the postwoman brought to the editorial office a letter with Minsk seal. Inside there was a paper, in which it was stated that this state enterprise that holds a monopoly on the subscription to the press on the territory of Belarus refused to include our newspaper in the subscription catalog,” reads the website of “Hazieta Slonimskaja”.

Thus, once again, starting from 2006, "Belpošta" states the inexpediency of including the newpaper into the subscription catalog among national and foreign editions, referring to the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus.

Several years ago, about 500 readers appealed to "Belpošta" and the Presidential Administration to resume subscription and to the newspaper in the Republican catalog. However, the collective appeal was met with the same answer.
