Biaroza activists intend to hold a picket on Freedom Day
Biaroza human rights defenders and social activists have applied for a picket on March 25 with the aim to mark an anniversary of the declaration of the Belarusian People's Republic and express solidarity with political prisoners.
At first they also intended to put on this list protests against the deployment of the Russian military bases on the territory of Belarus. However, they crossed this objective out due to the fact that Biaroza authorities regard it as incitement of "ethnic hatred" and extremism. Let us remind that due to this objective the authorities banned a picket on March 9.
The picket site is the entrance to the central stadium of Biaroza, as specified by an appropriate regulation of the Biaroza City Executive Committee. The intended number of participants is up to ten persons. It's worth reminding that the authorities haven't authorized a single mass event for 16 years already.
