The leader of Baranavichy entrepreneurs Mikalai Charnavus has applied to the Baranavichy city executive committee for holding a picket on March 21 against intimidation by officials of individual entrepreneurs bymeans fines and confiscation of goods.

Mikalai Charnavus is sure that not all residents of the city of Baranavichy know why the cooperative market stopped working since March 1, as well as about the essence of the presidential decree № 222. So he wants to inform the residents of the city and district of the reasons for absenteeism of local entrepreneurs from the Cooperative Market as well as about the fact that the government officials threaten them with fines and confiscation of the goods as a result of the entry into force of the aforementioned presidential decree on 1 March.

“I want to let people know why the majority of
the pavilions that sell clothing, are closed today. I consider it necessary to convey to people that by fines and confiscation one can increase the city budget only slightly. However, if the sellers of light industry goods lose their jobs at the market at all, it will be most unprofitable for ordinary citizens, who will have to buy goods in state stores at at inflated prices,”commented Mr. Charnavus.
