Deputy Head of Kobryn District Court Piatro Tsimashenka found the local activist Ales Mekh guilty of participation in an unauthorized mass event.
That's how the police and the court regarded the participation of Mr. Mekh in the commemoration of the participants of the insurgency against the Russian Empire, headed by Kastus Kalinouski in 1863-1864. The memorial event was held on October 26 in the town of Svislach in the Hrodna region. Ales Mekh was fined 1.5 million Belarusian roubles.
