Belarus executed third death verdict for the year

As learned by the Human Rights Centre “Viasna” yesterday, a resident of Homel sentenced to death, Aliaksandr Hrunou, had been denied clemency.
According to our information, October 13 his case came to the Homel Regional Court with the mark that he was denied clemency and all process actions concerning the appeal against the death verdict were exhausted.
November 4, Volha Hrunova, mother of Aliaksandr Hrunou, reported about receiving a post notice for receiving a parcel. In the parcel, there were the clothes which Aliaksandr was wearing during his stay on the death row in the prison in Valadarski Street in Minsk.
In April, 23-year-old student Pavel Sialiun and 45-year-old Ryhor Yuzepchuk were executed by shooting. At present, human rights activists possess information about one more prisoner awaiting execution – 54-year-old Eduard Lykau.
