Yury Rubtsou to be tried for insulting judge
The hearings on the criminal case will start at 3 p.m. on September 16 at the Tsentralny District Court of Minsk. The case will be considered by Judge Natallia Vaitsekhovich.
The case will be considered at this very court, as far as the alleged victim, Judge Kiry Palulekh, works at the Savetski District Court of Minsk.
On April 28, the Savetski District Court consider an administrative case against Mr. Rubtsou, who was detained at the officially permitted rally “Chernobyl Way” on April 26. During the trial, led by Judge Palulekh, Mr. Rubtsou presented remarks for the minutes of the court proceedings. However, they weren't taken into account. Moreover, Kiryl Palulekh took Rubtsou's words for an insult.
August 5, Yury Rubtsou was questioned at the Savetski District Department of the Investigations Committee of Minsk as a suspect in a criminal case under article 391 "Insulting a judge or a lay judge in connection with the administration of justice". The sanction of Article provides for various types of punishment - a fine, correctional labor for up to two years, the arrest for a term of three to six months, or restraint of liberty for up to three years.
