A criminal case has been opened against Homel activist Yury Rubtsou for “insulting a judge”. Yury Rubtsou wrote in a Facebook post: “An investigator from the Investigation Committee has just notified me that a criminal case was opened against me either for insulting or for threatening a judge.”
The activist served several terms in custody for participating in opposition rallies and wearing a shirt with the text “Lukashenka, go away”. The activist held hunger strikes in jail.
