Detention of Alena Dubanosava

After the court hearing of July 30 in the Luninets District Court, people in plain clothes detained the wife of the civil society activist Leanid Dubanosau, Alena Dubanosava.

Mrs. Dubanosava told them that she was going to the police to meet with an investigator at 11 a.m., and there was one hour left before that time. However, they put her in a private car and drove away. Her husband and other people managed to find her in the Luninets District Police Department. She was being led to the temporary detention center, where she would be kept for three days. She is charged with an attempt to cheat the buyers of the private shop “Pryhazhunia”. After she went to court to appeal against the non-payment of the wage to her by the shop owner, Aliaksei Katsuba, he applied to the police, accusing her of shortage of 70 million
rubles and inflating the prices of goods in the amount of 28 million rubles.

According to the activist
of the civil campaign "Tell the Truth" Valiantsin Lazarenkau, the problems that are created to Alena Dubanosava manifest the wish of the authorities to take revenge on Leanid Dubanosau, who didn't agree to leave the an independent trade union last year and lost his job at the “Granite” plant after 25 years of work. Then took part in the elections and ran for the Mikashevichy City Council. As far as he is redundant, the authorities started haunting his wife, commented Mr. Lazarenkau.
