Authorities ignore appeal of civil society activist from Khotsimsk

On June 10, Valery Karankevich sent a complaint to the Minister of Internal Affairs, requiring cancellation asking to cancel the ruling of the head of the Khotsims DPD (letter No. EK-506 of April 16, 2014) and the judgment of May 23, 2014, of the deputy chief of the Main Police Board of the Mahiliou Regional Executive Committee (letter No. 19/K-33 from May 23, .2014) on the termination of the administrative proceedings instigated on his appeal to the police. Mr. Karankevich asked the police to hold investigation, identify persons who had committed libel and insults in his address, and bring them to justice under the law.

The reason for applying to the Khotsims DPD and the Main Police Departmetn of the Mahiliou REC were the libelous and insulting articles about Mr. Karankevich, published at the website voskresinfo.com during the electoral campaign and before it.

Social activist had to appeal to the Minister, as employees of the Khotsimsk DPD Mahiliou MPB actually admitted their helplessness in search of the web-offenders.

He filed the appeal to the Minister on June 10 by registered letter with acknowledgment. It means that Mr. Karankevich knows exactly that the Ministry of Interior received it in time.
