Search at Aleh Zhalnou's apartment

The apartment of Babruisk blogger Aleh Zhalnou has been searched by the police. According to preliminary information, the police were looking for a video footage regarding his detention in the police department building over “attempted remote detonation”.

The blogger is known for recording with a video camera all his conversations with the police, traffic police and even inspectors on the public transport. Then he uploads these videos to the Internet and files complaints against actions of offenders in uniform. They often end up with lawsuits, which consume most of Zhalnou’s time lately.

This is the second raid on Zhalnou’s apartment after his residence was visited by the police last year. Then the search lasted seven hours, and as a result the police confiscated all the technical means of communication: a modem, a smartphone, hard drives, mobile phones.
