Brest observer urged to show documents not specified by law
On March 17, during the accreditation of observers at polling station No. 52 in Brest the Election Commission members demanded that Uladzimir Vialichkin provided an application of his nomination as an observer.
“The fact that it is contrary to the CEC resolution No. 26 of December 17, 2013, where such requirements are not provided, was ignored by the Commission members and I had to leave a copy of the application, although it is illegal,” says Uladzimir Vialichkin.
During the negotiations with the Commission the observer was approached by a policeman on duty who asked to show his documents, although there was no conflict, and the law enforcement officer unnecessarily came to the polling station.
The result of this situation was filing of a complaint by Uladzimir Vialichkin to the Brest City Election Commission on March 18.
