Vadzim Saranchukou deprived of candidate status

Vadzim Saranchukou, the only candidate of the Belarusian Popular Front for the Hrodna City Council, was deprived of the status of candidate by the Hrodna City Election Commission. Mr. Saranchukou was told about this at a meeting of the commission.

The commission stated that after his registration they had allegedly found some defects in the income and assets declaration, presented by him. It's quite interesting that in the previous election campaigns, Mr. Saranchukou also presented analogical declarations, and no problems arised as a result.

Another peculiarity of the situation is that the candidate has already published some of the campaigning materials. In the next three days he intends to appeal the decision of the city election commission to the regional election commission.
