The Mazyr District Election Commission has registered 46 teams formed to nominate candidates for members of the District Council. According to local observer Uladzimir Tseliapun, a meeting of the Election Commission was held on January 17, and all the electoral teams were registered, as a result.
“The peculiarity of this campaign is filing nominations from all the high executive officials, who will then be appointed to the local Council of Deputies. As a result, only five initiative groups were registered to represent other individuals. However, the number of potential candidates may be increased through the nomination by political parties and labor collectives,” explains the observer.
