41 electoral teams registered in Mahiliou

Mahiliou City Election Commission registered the initiative groups of all pretenders for candidates who intend to get nominated for the elections by collecting electors' signatures.

Among the registered electoral teams are the teams of members of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), Belarusian Popular Front, civil initiative "Tell the Truth" and the organizing committees of the Party of Freedom and Progress and "Belarusian Christian Democracy".

Human rights activist Barys Bukhel, who attended the meeting of the city election commission, said that the it went very quickly.

"Members of the City Election Commission said that they had already studied the submitted documents, no violations were found in them, that's why they listed for the whole list of electoral teams at once. This was the first batch of registered initiative groups. The next meeting for the registration of the electoral teams will be held at 5 p.m. on January 17,” says Mr. Bukhel.

It should be noted that representatives of the Belarusian Left Party "Fair World" and the United Civil Party refused to nominate their representatives to the city council by collecting signatures, as they are going to nominate them as candidates from parties.

Bear in mind that the deadline for submission of applications for registration of initiative groups by collecting signatures is January 16.
