Human rights defenders congratulate Baranavichy residents on Human Rigths Day

Despite an official ban on the 10 December picket, human rights defenders and social activists held a rally in Baranavicjhy in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The activists handed out booklets with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as information materials on human rights issues.

“First of all, today we have decided to congratulate the judges of the Baranavichy City and District Court. Almost all judges and court marshals were presented the texts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The same brochures and informational materials on human rights issues were handed out to passers-by in the city center. The people listened to us with interest, took materials and brochures and asked questions, said human rights activist Siarhei Housha.
