The date of the local elections was approved by Aliaksandr Lukashenka during a meeting with the head of the Central Commission on Elections and Holding Republican Referenda, Lidziya Yarmoshyna.
Mrs. Yarmoshyna also stated that together with this election there will be held a repeated election to the Parliament at the Homel-Navabelitskaya election constituency No. 36, as nobody was elected there during the parliamentary election of 2012.
