Court lifts preventive supervision from Uladzimir Yaromenak
On 1 October
preventive supervision was lifted from a former political prisoner,
participant of the post-election protests of 19 December 2010, “Young
Front” activist Uladzimir Yaromenak. The activist was informed by
it by the Pershamaiski District penitentiary inspection of
Minsk.
“An inspector phoned me ans asked me to come to the
inspection, where I was issued a ruling that the preventive
supervision towards me was stopped. However, I remain under
prophylactic supervision, which was established after my release from
the penitentiary,” said Uladzimir Yaromenak to Radio
“Racyja”.
After Uladzimir Yaromenak had been pardoned on
11 August 2011, prophylactic supervision was established over him as
well as over other political prisoners, in conformity with Article
196 of the Criminal-Executive Code. Later, on 12 March 2012, the
Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk established preventive
supervision over him for one year.
In August, Uladzimir
Yaromenak was sentenced to three months of arrest by the Pershamaiski
District Court of Minsk for a violation of the requirements of
preventive supervision.
