Sobering-up stations renamed to "special isolation facilities" to eliminate negative perception
In Belarus, the delinquents' isolation
centers and sobering-up stations are reorganized. The corresponding
decree № 307 "On the issues of improvement of the internal
affairs of the Republic of Belarus" was signed by Aliaksandr
Lukashenka on 8 July.
"The reorganization of delinquents'
isolation centers and medical sobering-up stations and their
conversion to subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is
prescribed. The medical sobering-up stations will be renamed as
specialized isolation facilities in order to eliminate the negative
perception of the previous titles. The categories of people who can
be placed in these facilities, the order of payment for the services
and maintenance and the status of the medical workers working there
are defined," reads the information of the press service.
