Judge Tatsiana Palulekh of Minsk Savetski District Court sentenced today Pavel Prakapovich, activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy’s organizing committee, to a fine of 2.5 mln rubles on charges of staging an illegal picket in memory of journalist Dzmitry Zavadski.
The activist was detained yesterday while displaying a portrait of the disappeared journalist in the central Yakub Kolas Square in Minsk. The picket was aimed at marking the 13th anniversary of Dzmitry Zavadski’s disappearance.
