MPs again ignore electors' opinion on local border traffic
The member of the House
of Representatives Viktar Valiushytski submitted an answer to the
Brest activists of the civl campaign "Tell the Truth!", who
asked why the MPs ignored the the appeal of citizens on local border
traffic – namely, why the question was not raised during the annual
message of the President of the Republic of Belarus Aliaksandr
Lukashenka to the Belarusian people in April 2013. Viktar
Valiushytski answered that the appeal of the citizens on local border
traffic between Poland and Belarus was not left unattended and was
sent to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, which
according to the Constitution, was authorized to decide issues of
interstate settlement. The MP also pointed that personal address to
Lukashenka was pointless, as far as his position on the matter was
voiced in his answer to the correspondent of the Polish Press Agency
(RAP) Malgorzata Vyzhkovskaya at the press-conference for 15 April
2013. Aliaksandr Lukashenka stated that the implementation of the
local border traffic was possible only after the normalization of
friendly relations between Belarus and Poland.
"The
answers are insubstantial", says an activist of the civil
campaign "Tell the truth!" Uladzimir Vuyek. "We have
not heard the personal position of the MP and how the issue is
controled by the MPs, including MP Valiushytski. We believe that the
opinions of voters were once again ignored. The MP was sent requests
for assistance to the practical implementation of the Law "On
local border traffic between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic
of Poland", signed by thousands of Brest citizens including his
electors."
