Members of the NGO “Belarusian Association of Journalists”, Volha Chaychyts and Ales Silich, are required to appear in Smaliavichy district Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday, May 30, press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports.
According to the official paper, the independent journalists are called in to provide explanations. Volha Chaychyts and Ales Silich say the incident is linked to their attending the public discussion of the project of the Belarusian-Chinese industrial park near Smaliavichy, which was held in April. Then, a policeman forced the journalists to show their passports and promised to “sort it out”.
