Former political prisoner Vasil Parfiankou told "Viasna" that he was convoyed to the Court of Minsk Pershamaiski district. Earlier today, the employees of Pershamaiski district police department charged him with an administrative offence for repeated violation of the rules of preventive supervision.

As Vasil Parfiankou told the human rights defenders, on May 16 he was summoned to police inspector Aliaksei Piarkou, who is in charge of overseeing the former political prisoner. When the activist came to the police station this morning, the inspector said that Vasil had another violation. As a result, Vasil Parfiankou was charged under Par. 2, Article 24.12 (“failure to comply with the requirements of preventive supervision”) of the Administrative Code. Par. 2 of this article – “the same action when repeated within one year after the imposition of an administrative penalty for the same offense” —means a fine of up to 50 basic units (5 mln rubles) or administrative arrest.

Vasil Parfiankou, participant of “The Square 2010,” was released from the arrest house in Baranavichy detention center No. 6 on February 9 this year, after having served a six-month arrest for non-compliance with the restrictions of preventive supervision set by Pershamaiski Court of Minsk. On April 4 Judge Yury Harbatouski of the same court once again sentenced the activist under Par. 1, Art. 24.12 of the Administrative Code to a fine of eight basic units (800,000 rubles).
