Eduard Lobau was allowed to meet with his mother
Political prisoner Eduard Lobau, who is
serving a 4-year prison term in the Ivatsevichy penitentiary
"Vouchyia Nory" received the permission for a three-day
meeting with his mother. The meeting was appointed on the next
weekend.
"Eduard phoned me almost immediately after the
information that his counsel would visit the penitentiary appeared.
Having no contacts with the son for a long time, we started getting
anxious. Six months have passed since the time of our last meeting,
that's why his application for another meeting was granted,"
said Maryna Lobava.
According to her, the head of the
penitentiary prohibited her to pass Eduard a food parcel after the
meeting.
Bear in mind that Eduard Lobau was detained the day
before the presidential election 2010, on 18 December 2010, together
with the "Young Front" leader Dzmitry Dashkevich. The both
of them were charged with beating a passer-by (malignant hooliganism)
within the framework of a fabricated case. As a result, Mr. Lobau was
sentenced to 4 years in prison, Mr. Dashkevich – to 2 years, and
then got one more year for alleged violations of the prison regime.
