On 6 May 2013 Dzmitry Charniak,
Aliaksandr Tarnahurski ("European Belarus") and anarchist
Ihar Trukhanovich were released from jail.
On 29 April they
had been sentenced to ten days of arrest for the participation in the
"Chernobyl Way" rally.
According to the activists,
the cells where they were kept were full of lice. However, the police
refused to sanitize them. "We were told that if we found two
matchboxes of lice then we would be lead out for sanitation",
said Mr. Tarnahurski.
In an hour after the release of the
three activists we learned about the detention of the journalists
Dzmitry Halko and Aliaksandr Yarashevich who came to meet them. The
detainees are charged with "insubordination to the police".
