Supreme Court issues registration dismisses appeal of "Young Democrats"
On 10 April the Supreme Court of
Belarus decided to turn down the appeal of the "Young Christian
Democrats" against the registration denial, issued to the
organization by the Ministry of Justice.
The constituent
assembly of the "Young Christian Democrats" took place on 3
November 2012 and was attended by 60 delegates from all parts of
Belarus. "Today's sitting again proves that the judicial system
doesn't work in Belarus and there are no fair trials. We would like
to state that we will continue our work irrespective of the absence
of the legal status," commented the YCD chairperson Maryna
Khomich.
According to its charter, the organization is a
national youth civil association uniting citizens on ta voluntary
basis for the joint realization of civil, social, cultural and other
rights.
YCD is a secular and non-religious association whose
activity spreads on the whole territory of Belarus.
