Minsk court convicts Freedom Day demonstrators
The Court of Minsk Savetski District sentenced last evening the activists detained during the Freedom Day rally on 24 March, including three Ukrainian nationals and one minor.
As a result, all the activists were found guilty of disorderly conduct (Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code).
Ukrainian activist Nazar Zelinkouski, 17, received a warning and will be deported from Belarus in the near future.
Anton Tsimokhau was sentenced to a fine of 2.5 million rubles. Aliaksandr Kavaliou and Aleh Astashonak were fined 4 mln rubles each. Siarhei Mokich was fined 3.5 mln rubles. Aleh Rahouski was fined 3 mln rubles.
Ukrainian citizens Yulia Slivinskaya and Yulia Hryshchuk were sentenced to one day of arrest each and were released in the courtroom. They are also expected to be deported soon.
Vital Stanisheuski was sentenced to five day of administrative arrest.
