On 9 March in Baranavichy, young
activists intended to hold a prayer for Belarus. The action was
organized by Christian democrats.
According to a participant
of the event, Anzhela Kambalava, just ten people gathered for the
prayer due to a bad weather. The activists held candles in their
hands. Three youngsters were detained by police, allegedly for
identification, but were released after 30 minutes.
Taking
into account the fact that there were more policemen and people in
civvies than action participants, the people parted: some of them
went to the church, put candles and prayed there, whereas the others
went to a memorial cross to victims of Stalin's repressions, prayed
and put candles there.
