Belarus Press Photo 2011 Albums Taken by KGB?
BAJ phoned yesterday to find out if the earlier confiscated 40 copies of Belarus Press Photo 2011 albums had been returned to the customs office of Ashmiany; surprisingly, we were told that the albums had been handed over to the KGB.
"All materials were transferred to representatives of the Committe of State Security. That's all I can tell you," said the head of the department on fighting smuggling and administrative customs violations Ihar Yakutsenka. According to his words, it also happened yesterday, February 20.
The KGB's phone lines are silent, so the press-service has been unable yet to confirm the information.
We remind that the albums were confiscated on a border control point, were examined and were doomed to be destroyed; then the authorities overrulled the previous decision, and the owners of the albums were to get the albums back from the customs office.
