Furthermore, the Dutch section of
"Amnesty International" gathered more than 84.000
signatures for the release of Ales Bialiatski. All signatures were
passed to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of
Netherlands.
On 8 February the "AI" coordinator in
the Netherlands Henk Hulshof and the MP Harry van Bommel, met with
the Belarussian ambassador in Haag and passed him 84.000 signatures
together with the golden coin on which a portrait of Bialiatski is
engraved along with the inscription "Freedom for Ales
Bialiatski".
Moreover, more than 6.600 people paid one
cent to the bank account of the Belarusian Embassy, indicating "to
release Ales Bialiatski" as the purpose of payment.
