Customs officers ignore appeal of "Fair World" member Ilona Tkachova
The Zhlobin member of
the Belarusian Leftist Party "Fair World" Ilona Tkachova
hasn't received any answer to her appeal to the head of the border
crossing point "Novaya Huta" concerning the detention of
her family on 6 December 2012 and the confiscation of her laptop and
photo camera.
"The appeal was filed the same day"
says Ilona Tkachova. "More than a month has passed already, but
we still haven't received any answer".
Bear in mind that
on 6 December 2012 Tkachova, her son and husband were returning from
Kyiv to Belarus by their car. They were examined on the border for
several hours. Eventually, a laptop and a photo camera were taken
away from the activist. She immediately filed a complaint to the head
of the border crossing point, but did not receive any answers within
the legally established term.
