Political prisoner Mikalai Dziadok is allowed to have only one meeting and one parcel a year
The political prisoner Mikalai Dziadok has been kept in the
cell-type facility of Mahiliou for over a month already. He was
transferred there from the Shklou colony, allegedly for repeated
violation of the prison regulations.
According to his father,
Aliaksandr Dziadok, the transfer from a colony to a prison deprives
his son of additional number of food parcels and meetings with
relatives: "He has been kept there for more than a month
already, spent some 2-3 days in the quarantine, and then was
immediately transferred to a cell.
It's a prison, it has it's
own conditions. He will have the right to one meeting and one parcel
a year. That's all," says the father.
During the stay in
the Mahiliou prison Mikalai Dziadok was has been visited by his
counsel. Before the New Year he was also visited by his wife. He has
no complaints about health and the new regime.
Mikalai Dziadok
has been sentenced to imprisonment within the framework of the
so-called "case of anarchists", together with Ihar
Alinevich and Aliaksandr Frantskevich. They were charged with the
organization of an anti-military procession near the Joint Staff,
assaults on the Embassy of the Russian Federation, the delinquents'
isolation center in Akrestsin Street and a number of other state and
private institutions. None of them pleaded guilty. Human rights
defender consider them to be political prisoners and demand their
immediate release.
