Rahachou activist receives warning over contributing to independent website

Dashkevich, pro-democratic activist from the town of Rahachou, received today an official warning about the inadmissibility of
violation of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
Earlier
today, the activist was summoned
to the
district’s Prosecutor’s Office. The “conversation” was carried out by prosecutor Mrs.
Chuyeshava and lasted for two hours.
Dashkevich
was warned that in case the independent website vrogacheve.ru would publish
articles with inaccurate information about the political and economic situation
in the country, or discredited the authorities, he can be face criminal charges
under Article 369-1 ("discrediting the Republic of Belarus"), Art.
188, Par. 2 ("libel") and Art. 189, Par. 2 ("insult") of
the Criminal Code.
“Of
course, this signal indicates that they are trying to tie our hands and feet;
they say, one more text and we will find for you an article in the Criminal
Code,” says Dzianis
Dashkevich.
