Another fine for Svislach rally
On 13 December the Svislach District Court fined an activist from Biarozauka Siarhei Trafimchyk 800,000 rubles. He was found guilty of attending the memorial event held on 27 October in Svislach to commemorate participants of the anti-Russian insurgence of 1863-1864.
The persecution of the action participants already
has a long story. Four of its participants were detained on the day
of the rally, 27 October: Vitold Ashurak from Biarozauka, Ales Krot
from Minsk, Stanislava Husakova from Vitsebsk and Vital Lopasau from
Hrodna. Three of them were sentenced to arrest, one was fined. Almost
a month after the event three more activists from Svislach, Viktar
Dzesiatsik, Anatol Valiuk and Yury Hlebik, were sentenced to fined.
However, the Hrodna authorities did not confine themselves to this
Later violation reports were drawn up on the head of the Hrodna
organization of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Vadzim Saranchukou
and a BPF member Iryna Danilouskaya. The trials over them haven't
been appointed yet.
And today the Svislach District Court has
decided that Siarhei Trafimchyk violated the Belarusian legislation
by visiting the insurgents' graves and the monuments that had been
erected in their honor.
