CEC denies registration to UCP Barysau nominee
The Central Election Commission has denied registration to potential candidate nominated by the United Civil Party’s Barysau office Mikhail Vasilieu.
The UCP’s nominee will not be able to run in Barysau constituency No. 63, after the election commission said he had failed to mention a car trailer in his tax declaration.
“I was sure the CEC would register me as a candidate, because a tax regulation of November 20, 2003 does not mention any trailers among vehicles subject for declaring. However, the CEC did not take this into account. Mrs. Yarmoshyna told me it was no use being registered as a candidate, as I am going to quit the campaign. I told her it is my Constitutional right,” says Mikhail Vasilieu.
