In the evening of 5 August an activist of the civil association “Free Region” Aliaksandr Drazdou was detained during an attempt to hang out a banner “Freedom to Bialiatski!”.

The activist didn't even manage to come up to the bridge where he intended to hang the banner. Drazdou was guarded to the police station and searched. After this he was issued with a warning about the inadmissibility of holding unauthorized actions. It is not known how the police found about his plans.

Several days ago, on 2 August, the banner “Freedom to Statkevich!” hanged in Polatsk for about an hour. The banner was hanged by activists of the “Free Region”. The police arrived in 10 minutes, but didn't remove the banner. Instead, their car stood near it for about 20 minutes, after which there came some people in mufti, who made photos of the banner and then took it away with themselves.
